Abstract

The study intends to critically look at unemployment and social intervention programmes with emphasis on N-Power Programme in the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria, to ascertain its impact on the general society where it was implemented and if it has achieved its stated objectives. The methodology adopted is survey while resting on the decision-making theory. Major findings indicate that though, the N-Power was a timely response to address poverty menace, it however did not achieve its full target. The study recommends among others; an audit of the programme to identify the major obstacles, and improve on it for subsequent social intervention programmes.
